One written record of what happened, what was agreed, and what happens next.

General notes about the loan — status, conditions, internal instructions, follow-ups. Anything that is not a record of a specific conversation, kept where the rest of the loan's communication history already lives.
Not every conversation happens over text. When a call, an email exchange or a face-to-face meeting occurs outside the platform, a Conversational note captures it against the loan with the channel recorded — Phone, Email, or Face to Face — so the file tells the whole story rather than half of it.
Notes typed during a call in the Phone module save to the loan as a Conversational note with a channel of Phone. No re-keying after the call ends.
Every note carries a visibility setting controlling who the note is intended for, so internal commentary and broadly-visible notes stay distinct.
Deleting a note removes it from the working list but retains the record. Deleted notes are shown as deleted on the Communications Log — nothing disappears from a lending file.
Entries from the Encompass conversation log import automatically and sit alongside your notes, badged with the Encompass logo so their origin is obvious at a glance.
Loan notes, Conversational notes and Encompass-imported notes all appear on the Communications Log in date order, alongside texts, calls, emails and documents.
When a file changes hands, the next person reads one record instead of piecing a history together from four systems and someone's memory.
